Inspired by a friend's blog, I thought to myself (many times) I really should have a blog. Often when telling people about one of my recent madcap adventures in the world of living on the edge, they will sigh, smile and maybe even smirk a little then say: "You know, you should really have a blog."
So, I clicked my way on over to blogger.com (being over the age of 40 and just on the cusp of the computer generation, I had to google "blogs" first), where I learned that low and behold, I have a blog. I do not appear to have written anything, though. So this is my first installment.
What I want to write about today is this topic that's been on my mind: "Dropping out, dropping in." It has to do with those folks who were sort of the forerunners of the group of people that were so cool for having left their corporate full time secure jobs to do crazy things like, oh I don't know, teach yoga. These were people who did so before it was really all the rage. Many suffered the slings and arrows of family and friends, gave up beige offices and recycled air and all the luxury it entails, to live in nature, or on a yoga mat, or on a yoga mat in nature.
God bless them for blazing a trail. But what has happened to the ones who did not hit it big? What happened to the ones who are not regular headliners at Yoga Journal Conferences? Who are not part of Deepak Chopra's mighty empire?
Ok, I need to take a break here and see if this thing actually posts, and figure out if I can make it pretty, and spice it up, so this can become a regular thing. I'll be back soon.
